This purchase is for a set of engine and luggage guards for the above bike model. The guards feature replaceable pucks and skid plates that protects the steel tubing. Think of them as protection for your protection. The pucks can be inexpensively replace without purchasing a new set of steel guards. The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike and the slider puck is bolted onto it. The steel tubing has two attachment points and braced together in the middle (top & bottom) to prevent them from rotating in the event of a low side. The engine guards are braced together by a crossbar in order to increase its strength. The material of the puck is made of UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene), a tough plastic with good strength, wear resistance and dimensional stability. It is more dimensionally stable than Nylon and used in many industrial ball bearing and friction reducing applications. Compared to Delrin, it is softer but tougher. Delrin is harder but more brittle. It is an ideal material for engine guards / frame sliders since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. The slider pucks can be inexpensively replaced in case of a low-side. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

First I will say this is a quality set that appears to be well made! The hardware supplied leaves something to be desired, I ended up having to replace a bolt for the luggage rack after it snapped as soon as it hit the nylon lock on the nut.
While everything fit well, be aware that if you have a factory fog light bar or a Givi light bar, you will have to remove it because the case guard does not leave enough room to have them installed. I had to make a hard decision of which one to keep, the $725+ light bar or protection for the engine. I decided to go with protection but really wish I could have both or at the very least had some warning that it wasn't going to work with the light bar. It isn't a deal breaker, I will find mounts for the 7/8 inch bar and install new lights, I just felt it was worth mentioning.

I bought this set, engine guard and luggage box guard, for a 2022 Kawasaki Versys 650.  They installed very easily.  Seemed to be very solid.  Fortunately, I have not had occasion to test them out as yet.  Hopefully never will.  But, they look good on the bike.  Dress it up really nice.
