This purchase is for a set of engine guards for the above bike model. The steel tubing is bolted to the subframe of the bike. The steel tubing has multiple attachment points preventing them from rotating in the event of a low side. It is ideal for engine guards since it can absorb more impact force onto itself and therefore reduce the impact on the bike. These new engine guards also feature replaceable skid plates that can be inexpensively replaceable if needed. No need to purchase a new kit after an accident. Think of them as protection for your protection. We use highest grade commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

If you’re thinking about buying the T-Rex Engine Guards, beware that they can drag on the pavement when performing tight turns at low speeds. This happened within 30 days of install, when I was navigating a roundabout in my neighborhood at -30mph. Also, the skid plate did not protect the main bar as advertised.

These guards came very well packaged. Excellent quality and finish and sturdy. Fitting was relatively easy, and a couple of You-Tube videos also helped as well as downloading the instructions from T-Rex. Left side was a little more involved than the right. Once installed look great and blend nicely with the engine (I have a '25 with black engine). I like the fact that you can replace the scratch plates should the bike ever lay down and also these are made in the USA. Would highly recommend.
