Great Product - Doesnt Work w/ Yamaha Engine Guard	Tuesday, May 31, 2022

I saw one of these skid plates on a Super Tenere and liked how you do not have to drop the skid plate off the bike to change the oil. My T700 came with the Yamaha OEM Engine Guard from the dealer (or probably would have bought something different). The engine guard cross bar below the radiator conflicts with both left and right mounting brackets that come with the skid plate.

The cross bar has a radius in it so I was able to remove the bar from the engine guard and rotate it to make the mounting brackets work. However, the tab on the cross bar that mounts to the engine can no longer be used. This mount point looks fairly insignificant so cut it off and touched it up with some black paint.

I would have given 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for the engine guard conflict.
