This purchase is for a set of engine guards and skid plate for the Yamaha Super Tenere. The guards feature aircraft grade aluminum skid plates (2 on each side) that can be inexpensively replaced should the bike go down. We don't want you to have to test the guards but in the event that you do, you can just pick up the bike and ride without worries. No need to replace the whole set as the skid plates were designed to minimized damage to the guard itself. The guards are also compatible with our skid plates (in production) for the bike. The steel tubing is bolted to the engine mount of the bike and the skid plates are bolted onto it. The steel tubing has six attachment points to prevent them from rotating in the event of a low side. The engine guards are braced together by crossbars in order to further increase its strength and ability to absorb damage. Our skid plate is designed to minimize damage and protect your bike from dirt, mud, and other debris. The skid plate is CNC cut from a solid 4mm sheet of aircraft grade aluminum. The plate is then tig welded and finished with black powder coating to increase durability. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available. We use highest grade bolts commercially available 12.9(177,000 psi in tensile strength) wherever possible. Rest assured that you are getting the best material commercially available.

We understand that riders want protection for both on/off the road. Our skid plates were designed to take the beatings of your everyday riding. Our skid plates are mounted at two locations (front, back). The mounting locations of a skid plate play a critical role in how much it can minimize damage and protect. We did not want to mount anything on the engine cover or stator as that would more likely cause more problems than prevent. Other skid plates that mount on the covers is trusting the integrity of the plate on 6mm bolts that are connected directly to the engine covers. Major impacts or accident will rip and crack that cover or bolt.

5 of 5 Easy Installation/Strong Crash bars Saturday, October 4, 2025

Purchased the crash bar/skid plate combo last year and they have been amazing and easy to install! Plenty of mount points for auxiliary lights and accessories like a tool kit. Fast forward to this summer, casually riding home from work, I get T-Boned by a distracted driver in a Mercedes SUV at ~40mph. I should have lost me left leg, heck I should be dead. But these crash bars gave enough buffer between the car and my bike to only get a laceration instead of pinching off my leg at the knee. My bike, still operable. Ill have to cut and reweld the mounting points but I am 100% buying these crash bars again once i rebuild the bike, but this time im getting the highway pegs too. I wish I could post pictures, but more than happy to email them so you can see for yourself. My name @gmail.com

Shipping to Toronto Canada was fast, and installation easy. The kit gives a strong look to the bike. The skid plate gives a particular echo to the engine you might not like at first or until you get used to it, motor wont sound the same, does not sounds bad tho. Bars have plenty of angles to install accesories. Skid not only protects from debris, also keeps engine clean (if care).
Very happy with this product. Recommended!

Shipping was pretty super fast. Installation: This was relatively easy - and took me about 2 hours in total. I should add that I'm a novice when it comes to any mechanical work, so I was going pretty slow. The biggest challenge I had was figuring out the torque for all the bolts. The manual is very basic, and most of the instructions are on YouTube videos. Feedback to T-Rex - please make these (or additional) videos for noobs like me. Communication from T-Rex Team is absolutely amazing. I installed the skid plate slightly off position first time, and the T-Rex support team guided me on steps to take to get it properly aligned. I researched bunch of crash bars and skid plates for 2 months before deciding on T-Rex; there isn't much info online and forums, however, everything I found was positive. Personally highly recommend the crash bars and skid plate.

I purchased the crash bars and skid plate combo for my 2019 Super Tenere. These items are awesome. The quality and fit are excellent. Pretty easy to install and they look amazing. I can take off the side panel to access the battery etc without removing the bars. These are quality items and at a great price. Customer service is great and I’m very happy with my T-Rex products. Thank you T-Rex for an amazing product at an amazing price.
